Here at Mussons we have made wines in the Priorat since 1973. Today we make our DOQ Priorat wines at our winery in Poboleda, where we also grow our grapes.

PRIORAT WINERY
The winery, located at the entrance to Poboleda, in the heart of the Priorat, is recently built (in 2015). It is well-equipped, with stainless steel vats, equipped to ensure optimum conditions for fermentation, and variable capacity storage tanks to keep the wines without coming into contact with the air. There are also French and American oak barrels. We have a winemaking capacity of between 15,000 and 20,000 litres a year. We currently produce a red wine aged for 2-3 years and a young white wine, from our vineyards located 2 kilometres from the winery.s

HISTORY
MussonsVins was born out of the inheritance of over 80 years of family tradition: Jaume Mussons Llopart started selling wines from his store in Barcelona in 1928. But in 1964 his son Jaume Mussons Estebanell expanded the business to start ageing wines for export and bottling with the labels Patentades, Mussons and Scala Dei. In the same year he also registered the family crest. 1973 saw the founding of the company Cellers de Scala Dei, where J. Mussons Estebanell was the technical manager and winemaker. It is widely recognised as one of the first wines to be bottled in the Priorat. In 1991 Jaume Mussons Carvajal (the founder’s grandson) and his wife Teresa Maria Argemí started growing wine near Poboleda in the heart of the Priorat, and in 2009 the company was re-founded under the name MussonsVins. A few years later it started bottling wines with the MUSSONS label in its winery in Poboleda. This winery was extended and refurbished in 2015.
